Why have a dental plan
Your oral health
Maintaining your oral health by regularly visiting your dentist can help keep
you generally healthy.
What is preventive dental care?
It is about keeping in good oral health and finding dental problems before
they cause pain or need invasive or costly treatment.
Being seen regularly by your dentist could help prevent:
- Gum disease - caused by a build up of plaque which, in the worst case,
could mean loss of teeth
- Mouth cancer - this affects around 5,300 people every year in the UK
(Cancer Research UK diagnosed cases in 2006) but if detected early by your
dentist can be successfully treate
- Dental emergencies - the better the condition of your oral health the
less likely you are to suffer a dental emergency
