A new service from Denplan and The Security Watchdog
We've teamed up with The Security Watchdog (TSW) who will now operate the Enhanced CRB Disclosure service on behalf of our member practices. TSW operate on an international scale and can deliver fast and robust security screening.
Which members of my practice require an Enhanced CRB check?
All patient-facing staff should be risk-assessed to determine whether they have regular contact with children and vulnerable adults, in particular whether they have unsupervised contact. If they do, they'll need to be checked. In practice, this will mean that all chairside staff and most reception staff should be included.
Can I use this service to get an Enhanced CRB Disclosure to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in England?
No. The registered manager needs to contact the CRB directly on 0870 90 90 811 and request an Enhanced CRB Check form, quoting the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and their reference number: 232 443 000 03
Can I use this service to apply for an Access NI Enhanced Disclosure?
Yes; we're happy to confirm that TSW's service includes Access NI Enhanced Disclosures.
How much does it cost?
Each Enhanced Disclosure costs £57.50 + VAT. We'll invoice you on receipt of your staff member's application. Please note that forms with incomplete or incorrect information will be subject to a £12.50 + VAT surcharge.
How do I get an Enhanced Disclosure?
Download a Verification Request Form and email the completed form to denplancrb@securitywatchdog.org.uk. If you don't have email access, please use the fax number on the form.
If you're unable to download the form, call the Denplan Quality Programme Team on 0800 587 1097 to request a copy.

What happens next?
TSW will send the Enhanced CRB Disclosure form directly to the applicant, together with a letter of explanation, step by step instructions for completion, a prepaid envelope and a sheet of frequently asked questions and answers.
Timescales for CRB checks can vary depending on several factors, such as the workload of the relevant police authorities. TSW have agreements in place to make sure disclosures are dealt with promptly.
