Your Denplan fees are set by your dentist, based on the amount of time you will spend with them and other members of the practice team during the year. Your dentist will also consider the costs of likely treatments based on your level of oral health.
Dentists set their own fees; these vary depending on the location of the practice, its overheads for meeting professional regulations, and the dental payment plan you agree. You can view details of the dental payment plans to check what is and isn't included in the products. Every Denplan care contract is between you and your dentist. Please confirm what's included in your plan with your dentist.
Why might my fees change?
The amount you pay is dependent on your dentist's evaluation of your oral health and the amount of treatment you need. Your fee will reflect the amount of time your dentist and the dental team spend with you. If your oral health changes, this will be reflected in your fee. Additionally, Denplan dentists review their fees in line with business costs and professional regulations, such as the new infection control facilities needed.
If my dentist sets my fees, what is Denplan's role?
Denplan collects your payments and forwards them directly to your dental practice, reducing paperwork and administration, leaving your dentist and their team free to give you the best possible care. And that's not all - Denplan also arranges Supplementary Insurance and provides a 24-Hour Worldwide Dental Emergency Helpline, to help you in case you suffer a dental injury or dental emergency away from home, and a Customer Adviser team to help you with any enquiries about your Denplan membership.
Why do I pay extra for specialist treatment?
Should you dentist refer you to a specialist for treatment, such as orthodontics or oral surgery, it would be chargeable as your dentist is not providing the service. Your contract is with your registered Denplan dentist, and it's that dentist who is being paid to carry out your continuing care. As specialist treatment is not part of your regular treatments and appointments, it's not included in your Denplan fee.
Does claiming on my Supplementary Insurance affect my fee?
Making a claim does not affect your payments. However, if your oral health changes as a result of a dental injury and you need to spend more time with your dentist, they may review your fee.
