What is a dental implant?

Dental implants are an advanced treatment option and look and feel like real teeth. A permanent titanium 'root' is implanted into the gum and bone and, once settled, a crown-type 'tooth' or bridge is permanently fixed to it.

Dental Implant Upgrade Cover can be added to your Supplementary Insurance for only £1.99 per person per month.

What's included in the cover

  • Up to £2,100 per implant to replace a tooth lost as a result of a dental injury or dental accident
  • Maximum cover of £20,000 per incident

What's not included in the cover

  • Treatment not resulting from a direct external impact to the mouth
  • Dental treatment which was prescribed, planned or taking place at the start date of your Implant Upgrade Cover
  • A dental injury which occurred within 28 days of the start date of your policy
  • The placement of an implant into an existing toothless space, where your dentist or specialist does not deem it to be clinically appropriate, or replacement following the failure of an implant to integrate
