Boundaries for Life - its not just about the cricket!

Simplyhealth Professionals is gearing up for a third season of support for Boundaries For Life at cricket matches across the UK. Founded in 2010 by Dr Chet Trivedy, a dual-qualified dentist and doctor, Boundaries for Life offers free health checks for spectators and ground staff at major cricket fixtures throughout the UK. Sponsored by Simplyhealth Professionals, the project is made possible through a team of volunteer health professionals who check for signs and risks of health issues including blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, heart age and obesity.

A view from the other side

The last few weeks have seemed a little bit like a ‘view from the other side’, some of it in our field and some in other areas of healthcare. Despite the fact that of course out of choice you wouldn’t necessarily want all of the above, it has given me the opportunity to consider how our patients feel and how we disseminate information.
Teamwork

Learning what we can achieve as a joined up profession

Accepting we are responsible for our choices can be liberating

It changed as I watched it and being able to see the weather approaching from a distance made me realise how little control we have over some things in life. Coming across from the direction of the Isle of Wight, the sky was darkening and you could see the wind increasing.

Find people who understand you at courses and events

Well a few hours ago I had a gorgeous drive as the sun rose on my way up the M3 to Heathrow. Belfast clearly didn’t get the advance weather requirements I sent…I’m beginning to think my requests go unheeded!!!
