National Dentist’s Day: celebrating you, our dentists

National Dentist’s Day, on March 6th, was created as an opportunity to recognise dentists everywhere and to give thanks for all that they do to support patients and educate them on the important role that good oral health plays in overall wellbeing.

Dental professionals know that links have been established between gum disease and diabetes and share common risk factors with the most prevalent chronic conditions including heart disease and strokes. The good news is that there is a general awareness of this in the UK with 75% of adults agreeing that poor oral health can have a significant impact on general health.¹ And more than four in five adults recognising the importance of prevention.² 

Furthermore, 81% of adults on a dental payment plan (such as Denplan) say they visit the dentist every six months.³ These are really encouraging statistics and today, on National Dentist’s Day we want to say thank you for playing your part and for the fantastic work you do every day.
