‘Empowering Leadership – Navigating Team Dynamics & Employment Law’ is our new event designed to support Practice Managers through expert-led learning, meaningful connections, and fresh inspiration.
We were delighted to welcome some of our fantastic Practice Managers from across the region to our new Practice Managers event, held in the stunning surroundings of The Park Royal Hotel and Spa in Stretton, Warrington. Set against a backdrop of tranquil views and exceptional hospitality, the venue provided the ideal setting for a day filled with learning, laughter, and professional growth.
Guests were greeted on arrival with fresh breakfast rolls and a selection of hot and cold drinks, setting the tone for a warm and welcoming experience.
Legal insights from Shakespeare Martineau’s Matt McDonald
The day began with a powerful and informative session led by Employment Law specialist Matt McDonald of Shakespeare Martineau.
Matt guided delegates through the latest upcoming changes in employment law, offering valuable insights to help them stay ahead in their roles.
The session concluded with an open Q&A, giving attendees the chance to get tailored advice and clarity on specific concerns. Matt’s expertise and approachable style made this session a real highlight of the day.
I really enjoyed Thursday; the day was very interesting. I thought all of the subjects were very relevant to the Practice Manager. The team from Shakespeare Martineau were very informative and updated us on all the new changes.

Connecting over lunch & communication styles
A delicious lunch followed in the hotel’s restaurant, giving delegates the chance to connect, relax, and enjoy a break in great company.
After lunch, the focus turned to the people side of practice management. We ran an interactive session looking at different communication styles and the challenges that can arise when team members have opposing approaches.
Delegates explored how to adapt their communication style to better connect with team members, leading to stronger, more productive relationships back at the practice.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for putting on this event, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was helpful to learn about the employment law changes for 2026. Shakespeare Martineau were very informative. The atmosphere was relaxed, and everyone felt very comfortable. As a result, I think we all gained knowledge from the Q&A time.
The upcoming training for the team on harassment will certainly be appreciated. As always, you and your colleague made the afternoon session fun.
It was interesting to learn about our own behavior types and the importance of having the four different types to create a great team. It will certainly help me think about the different personalities in my team and help me to manage and communicate better.
I would certainly recommend this course to managers and business owners.
