Our Clinical Support Specialists are here to help
Introducing Carly, Lucy and Vanessa, our Clinical Support Specialists at Denplan

Published: 24/01/2025
With over 55 years’ experience within the Dental Industry and Denplan between them, they are here to assist practices in navigating their way through the ever-changing regulations they must keep abreast of, along with the increasing influx of legislation, which we appreciate can be a daunting prospect for you and your practice team. With the support of registered clinicians, we constantly scan the horizon for every change in regulation and legislation. We understand and consider their impact at a practical and pragmatic level.
We offer pre and post regulatory and Denplan Excel inspection support for all regions. Whether it’s helping you compile evidence requested by the inspector, deciphering their requests/remarks, or to help to meet any actions that have come up during your inspection. We also have an online self-assessment tool that can be used to highlight areas individual practices need to focus on, especially if you feel an inspection is approaching.
Another area of support we offer is with clinical complaints. We appreciate that complaints can put you in a difficult situation and our professional and impartial support can assist in the mutually agreeable resolution of clinical disputes that may occur between you and your Denplan Care patients. Our service usually assists in disputes where a patient has perceived ‘missed’ or outstanding treatment and can offer support to dentists where they feel there has been an unfortunate breakdown in the essential dentist-patient relationship either before, or because of a clinical complaint.
The service also looks to assist patients in fully understanding their Denplan Care contract, as we sometimes find that this education around their own responsibilities for their dental care, highlighting what a patient can and cannot expect from their contract, often negates some complaints, or helps to reinforce the response already provided by their dentist.
Where a patient wishes to utilise our service, we will firstly request that they have discussed their concerns with their contracted dentist for you to be afforded the opportunity to respond. If a patient remains dissatisfied, then this is a good opportunity to suggest the Clinical Complaints Support Service.
This is an informal service and although our first point of contact is usually with the patient, please be reassured that we are not here to judge the treatment or course of action offered.
