What to expect on a Tailor Made Training Day

The Denplan Academy Training Team deliver training in many formats – at events such as our Practice Manager and Reception days, and online, but we love nothing more than delivering Tailor Made Training (TMT) days in your practices. These TMTs are a favourite with all the trainers as they allow us to meet the whole team and spend a productive day together.
Each visit is unique because every practice team is unique, and that’s what makes our TMT days so rewarding. That said, there are a few things you can always expect when you book a TMT with us.
Firstly – we will always come with biscuits or chocolates to keep you going!
Secondly, we take pride in the training we deliver and a big part of that is the planning and preparation. We understand that taking part in a TMT means stepping away from seeing patients, so we’re committed to ensuring the day provides valuable CPD hours and meaningful, engaging content. Our goal is to deliver training in a relaxed, enjoyable, and interactive environment. Planning is key to making your TMT day a success.
When you book a TMT with us, you’ll receive confirmation of your booking along with a link to our training guide, detailing all our modules. With so many options to you available, choosing your modules can be difficult, so your trainer will personally call or email you to help tailor the day to your specific needs.
We’ll suggest modules that complement each other, address any challenges your practice may be facing, and align with your goals. Once the content is decided, we’ll discuss the logistics: - timings, location (some practices like to book external venues for their TMT), parking and whether you have a TV we can plug into or a blank wall we can project onto.
Don’t worry if you don’t have the necessary setup—we’ll bring everything needed. All we ask is that the team comes ready to engage—and a cup of coffee wouldn’t hurt!
Having agreed the topics it’s down to the trainer to put the day together. Our training isn’t “off the shelf.” Every TMT day is customised to fit your practice’s needs. For instance, even standardised topics like Safeguarding Levels 1 & 2, which require set content for compliance, are adapted to suit your location and specific context. Our sessions are interactive, ensuring both the trainer and the training evolve with participant input.
All our training modules are CPD verifiable but we don’t just cover GDC recommended subjects. On your training day we can for example, run a CPD verifiable session that helps you plan your social media marketing for the year. Or we can run a stress management session that looks at the causes of stress and how it can be managed. If you want to grow your business we can run sessions on Ethical Sales or Increasing Treatment Acceptance. Or we can use part of the day to facilitate team-building activities for a more cohesive team dynamic.

If a full day doesn’t suit your schedule, consider half day sessions or splitting the team into morning and afternoon groups, so your practice can remain open while everyone benefits from the training and gains valuable CPD hours.
