When I started my career as a dental nurse at just 17, I never imagined doing anything else. I truly loved the role, especially being chairside and making a difference to patients' lives.

Long hours on your feet, assisting with intricate procedures, and moving quickly between surgery and decontamination areas can contribute to musculoskeletal strain, particularly in the back, neck, and hips. Protective equipment, while essential, can also bring its own challenges, sometimes leading to skin conditions such as acne and contact dermatitis.
Beyond the physical aspects, dental nurses also navigate a complex emotional landscape. Many patients experience fear or anxiety during treatment, requiring nurses to provide reassurance while remaining composed under pressure.
